While we understand that you may not have access to several photos of your nominee, do your best to follow these guidelines.

Just the nominee

Help users pick your nominee out of a crowd. A photo of your nominee on his or her own will work better than a group shot.

Lighting counts

Do your best to capture your nominee in bright, even lighting and try not to submit photos that are too dark.

Account for re-sizing

The Heroes site automatically re-sizes the image you submit to be used on multiple pages — and sometimes overlays text on the bottom of the photo. While we cannot guarantee this will work for all photos, a good rule of thumb is to make sure your nominee's eyes are centered in the top half of the photo. For the best results, keep the following numbers in mind when selecting an image of your nominee: at the very least your image should be 225 pixels wide by 340.
