Tell us about your nominee. Why should he or she be recognized as a Jewish Community Hero?

As a director of a Hillel establishment, his job is to reach out to students and connect with their lives, and he well surpasses that. He is a genuine person and seeks to better every single student's life. He is very smart too, having a lot of knowledge about ancient Turkish Jews around six- or seven-hundred years ago. All in all, Paul is a genuine, caring, loving guy who deeply cares about every single person he encounters.

What problem did your nominee identify in the community that needed to be solved? How has your nominee's efforts made a difference for others?

One problem he's identified in the community is the decrease of participation in local college Jews. They usually lose motivation to attend Hillel around junior year, and since we've had Paul (this will be his second year), he's made our Hillel so lively.
