For several decades, Karen has been a dedicated advocate for diversity in the Jewish community, welcoming interfaith and multicultural couples and families, LGBT Jews and their loved ones, and spiritual seekers of all walks of life. She walks her talk and fosters genuine, heartfelt change and community dialogue.
What problem did your nominee identify in the community that needed to be solved? How has your nominee's efforts made a difference for others?
Creating a TRULY diverse, open-hearted, welcoming Jewish community is Karen's passion. She has worked with local Federations, Jewish Family and Children's Service agencies, local congregations and interfaith community groups to support them in creating meaningful, relevant and engaged programs and strategies for outreach and inclusion.
