Jonathan Ginsburg
Evanston, Illinois
How is your Hero working to make the world a better place?
Rabbi Ginsburg works closely with quality people interested in converting to Judaism. He meets with them once a week to educate them on Judaism free of charge. He also works with a large African-American community in Chicago, educating them on Judaism. Rabbi Ginsburg is one of the founding members of ZOA Chicago. He works with colleges, and radio stations, trying to educate Americans about Israel. He also works with the Russian Jewish community, trying to bring them closer to the American Jewish community by conquering the language barrier.
How has your Hero impacted your life and inspired you?
Rabbi Ginsburg showed me how to stand up and be proud of being Jewish. He doesn't hide his face, nor his faith. He writes weekly news letters, and films weekly YouTube clips educating the world about Judaism. He shows the world that Jews can be strong, and peaceful. He doesn't back down from any debate, and yet approaches them with dignity and understanding. He is kind and caring, about all communities. He is a true Zionist, and a caring human being filled with loving-kindness. There has never been a moment that I have seen him, where he is not supporting Israel (country), and the Jewish People.
