Tell us about your nominee. Why should he or she be recognized as a Jewish Community Hero?
John has worked tirelessly to
identify, prevent and treat child abuse in the community and throughout
the world. He has championed numerous programs, edited professional
journals, conducted hundreds of studies and committed himself
personally, financially and spiritually to the eradication of abuse to
children.
What problem did your nominee identify in the community that needed to be solved? How has your nominee's efforts made a difference for others?
John identified the unmet need of defenseless
children who suffer at the hands of abusive adults and peers. He has
been instrumental in establishing programs in his community and been a
thought leader internationally in addressing this problem. Because of
him, prevention, education and treatment programs are changing the
lives of thousands of children at risk.
