How is your Hero working to make the world a better place?
Joel devotes his life to raising awareness of sexual abuse in the Jewish Community and helps countless victims of sexual abuse through friendship and support. Joel has given numerous lectures, articles and interviews on the issue over many years. He stands up for what is right, not what is always popular and often a great personal sacrifice.
How has your Hero impacted your life and inspired you?
Joel gives me a lot of support and strength to carry on with my own advocacy. He is a true friend. He has lobbied in the New York House of Representatives and in the New York Senate to change laws regarding Statutes of Limitations for victims of sexual abuse. He is always available to volunteer of his time for me and anyone who needs encouragement and friendship.
