How is your Hero working to make the world a better place?
Jean oversees the operation of all the programs and services provided by LBBC, which include (but are not limited too): a comprehensive educational Web site, lbbc.org; a toll free Survivors' Hotline; large national conferences; free teleconferences; networking programs; quarterly newsletters; publications for medically under served women; workshops and trainings for healthcare providers; low cost informational recordings; the Paula A. Seidman Library and Resource Center; and fund raising for all these projects. Today LBBC serves more than 60,000 breast cancer survivors nationally and internationally. She is a true spirit for people and it is my honor to submit her name.
How has your Hero impacted your life and inspired you?
Our daughter Andi was diagnosed at the age of 37. She was frightened and didn't know where to seek help. LBBC provided the network of information and the Young Survivors Group answered many questions that young women with breast cancer face. The group enabled Andi to LIVE BEYOND HER BREAST CANCER. Andi served on the board of directors of LBBC for 10 years and remains active with the organization to this day. Jean provided the guidance for all the services that Andi utilized through LBBC.
