How is your Hero working to make the world a better place?
Don has been volunteering and giving of his time in a variety of capacities to the San Diego Jewish community. He has faithfully served as a greeter at Congregation Beth Israel on Friday night services for more than 15 years. Everyone who comes to services, whether the veteran or the hesitant newcomer, is greeted with a hearty welcome and smile. Don also sings in the volunteer choir at Congregation Beth Israel, is active in the men's club and runs Shabbat services for seniors in a nearby senior living facility. The world is truly enriched by Don's service to the Jewish community.
How has your Hero impacted your life and inspired you?
Don has demonstrated that one does not need to be a paid Jewish professional to make a true difference. He maintains a full-time job outside of his volunteering and an active family life. He inspires those around him to find ways to give back to the Jewish community.
