How is your Hero working to make the world a better place?
David Filmore is the world's first real-life Jewish superhero. After being the victim of a frightening burglary, David decided to make it his life's mission to help people find justice. Inspired by a life-long love of comic books and a philosophy rooted in Tikkun Olam, David assumed the guise of HERO MAN and offers his help to anyone who needs it. Shortly before being robbed, David was diagnosed with a life-threatening illness which left him weak and hospitalized. Looking back on the experience, he believes it made him stronger and prepared him for his work as a superhero. Because being able to truly understand what it means to be powerless helps him to identify with the people that seek out his assistance. Through his website (www.SaveMeHeroMan.com) anyone who is in trouble can reach out for help. No matter what the problem, big or small, HERO MAN has vowed to do all he can to set things right. Life doesn't often present people with neatly-packaged problems that have cookie-cutter solutions. Sometimes you need the help that only a superhero can provide. And at that time HERO MAN will be there to help. A documentary feature entitled HERO MAN was made about David Filmore and is currently doing the film festival circuit.

David Filmore is like a guardian angel. He helped me when I felt completely lost. I was a victim of a crime and he helped me find closure and the answers I was seeking. I'll never forget how he selflessly committed his time and energy to solving my problem. I am so grateful that there people like him in the world and he makes me want to do my part in helping others. HERO MAN changed my life forever. He is a true mensch.
