Daniel has raised over $175,000 to support vulnerable Jewish families in Toronto and Israel through his annual community-wide philanthrophic event The Pitch For Israel. Daniel does this annual mitzvah in addition to his full time work as a youth marketing expert and MBA studies at the Schulich School of Business. His active Jewish involvement spans over a decade as he was very involved as a Jewish campus leader through AEPi and Hillel during his undergraduate years at Western.

Daniel has hosted over 250 Jewish events since 2001 with the objective of bringing the Jewish community together while raising funds for worthwhile causes such as Magen David Adom, The Walk With Israel, The Canadian Cancer Society and The Parkinson's Society of Canada.

Daniel was awarded the Righteous Hand Community Leadership Award, and more recently, a UJA Award For Community Involvement for his dedication toward furthering Jewish unity and engaging Jewish youth through active programming.

What problem did your nominee identify in the community that needed to be solved? How has your nominee's efforts made a difference for others?

Daniel felt that Jewish youth, the community leaders of tomorrow, needed an outlet to engage in Tikkun Olam, and to dedicate their time and resources to support Jewish families in need. Inspired by his Taglit Birthright trip and the drive to engage his peers on a philanthropic level, Daniel created The Pitch For Israel program and continues to be involved in several other Jewish fundraisers annually. Daniel's passion for helping other's has yielded hundreds of Jewish activities over the years to bring the community together while raising hundreds of thousands of dollars for those in our communities, in Israel and Toronto, who need it most.
