How has your Hero impacted your life and inspired you?
Chaya is an Orthodox Jewish woman who donated a kidney to a stranger. Since her kidney donation she wanted to save more lives, so she started a project to help people who are in need of a kidney. She has given life to those who were in need of a kidney by finding kidney donors for them. Because of her great reputation, people from all over the USA and the world, have contacted her about their needing a kidney. As a kidney matchmaker, she spends most of her days and nights on this and does not get paid or charge a fee. She has saved many lives of those in need of a kidney, by her postings on the internet, radio interviews and fliers for those in need. Kidney chains have also resulted by those she has inspired to donate a kidney. She provides support to those who are in need of a kidney, and to those donating a kidney, guiding them and assisting with their needs, along the way. She is greatly admired for her selfless work, in saving lives and her great compassion for those in need, not just by those who need a kidney, but also by doctors and coordinators in the kidney transplant field. Chaya has started a website, KidneyMitzvah.com, which provides very useful information for those who are considering kidney donation and for those in need of a kidney. She helps Jews and gentiles as well
