How is your Hero working to make the world a better place?
Dr. Freiedland started the Jewish Boy Scout Troop of Raleigh. She is involved with virtually every Jewish organization and charity in the area, those public and more private.
How has your Hero impacted your life and inspired you?
Dr Friedland is nationally known and respected as an first tier ophthalmic surgeon. A considerable portion of her medical skills are donated to those in need, from the very young to the very old. She is committed to 'tikkun olam', and supports local food banks, health care organizations and other charities dedicated to improving the life of others. She has never missed the opportunity to offer a hand up. Her commitment to Israel and Israeli causes is unshakable and tenacious. Israel is more than a political agenda. Dr. Friedland recognizes the State of Israel represents a high moral and ethical standard and conveys that message. On occasion, Dr. Friedland leads services at her Congregation, Beth Meyer. Her voice is beautiful to be sure, but her prayers are inspirational and uplift the congregation.
