Hands Up for Haiti
How has your Hero impacted your life and inspired you?
Soon after the earthquake in Haiti, Dr. Bromberg joined a team of physicians dedicated to providing much needed medical care. Conditions were quite dangerous and there was almost no infrastructure. Rather than being daunted by this, Dr. Bromberg delivered superb medical care and inspired her colleagues to do the same. When she returned, she was determined to do whatever she could to continue to help. She has spoken widely about conditions in Haiti and returned a number of times to continue to help. Whenever she speaks at our congregation, she inspires more people to offer to help either with time or money. Because of Dr. Bromberg, many people in Haiti who formerly had vision issues will be able to see clearly. And because of her personal courage and her unforgetable pictures and words about conditions in Haiti, the congregation has continued to want to help even as the situation in Haiti has disappeared from the news. She has become a role model for many of us, including our teens.
