This time of year, everyone is thinking about giving thanks and giving back. But our five finalists in the Jewish Community Heroes Contest spend the whole year giving back to their communities.
That’s right: the five finalists. You’ve waited long enough to meet the five men and women who are heading to Washington, DC, this weekend—where they’ll be honored at the UJC/Jewish Federations of North America’s General Assembly.

Our five finalists are champions for their communities and bring enthusiasm to the larger Jewish community. They are five passionate leaders who remind us all that one person can work to make the world a better place—and that’s why we’re honoring each of them at the General Assembly and awarding $1,000 for each of their community service endeavors.
But don’t forget: on November 10, only one of the finalists will be named the Jewish Community Hero of the Year—and receive $25,000 towards his or her community service work.
